Pass the Faith

At Lakewood, we believe that the home is intended to be the primary environment for passing on the faith to the next generation (Deut. 6:4-9). The Church plays an important, complementary role by equipping parents and supplementing what children are learning at home (Psalm 78:1-8).

To that end, Lakewood Children's Ministry seeks to teach Biblical truths, and to provide special events and equipping opportunities that help strengthen the bond between the parent, child, and the church.

Baby Blessings Classes

In order to make the milestone of Child Dedication as memorable and fulfilling as possible, we ask parents to attend a Baby Blessings class prior to the Dedication. This class will start the parenting journey with what Biblical blessings are and why they are so significant in the life of their child.

Our Baby Blessings classes will be held at 9 AM in Room 182 on the following Sundays: March 15, June 28, and September 27.

To sign up for a Baby Blessings class, contact Barb Filiatrault, 218-829-7251.

Child Dedications

Scripture clearly teaches that God has ordained the home to be the best environment for passing on faith in Christ to the next generation. When parents choose to dedicate their child to the Lord, they are also dedicating themselves to the privilege and responsibility of raising that child in the "training and instruction of the Lord" (Eph. 6:4). As an Evangelical Free Church, Lakewood offers this opportunity to parents of children of any age.

Our 2020 Child Dedications will be on Sunday, March 29 and Sunday, October 25.
